To The Bone is the latest Netflix movie and is almost as controversial as 13 Reasons Why. This movie revolves around a young woman struggling with anorexia. Her family, at their wits end, contacts and unconventional doctor (portrayed by Keanu Reeves) who challenges her to face her condition and embrace her life.
I wasn't "blown away" by this movie... I had expected more. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie, with a solid message, but it was slow and I did not like the ending. the conclusion of the story felt rushed - almost like "we've got 15 minutes left, let's tie this up!". To The Bone did a good job of showing how this condition affects those around her, not only her family, but the other teenagers struggling with their own condition and how they relate to each other.
There is vulgarity in this movie, but no sex or violence. There are strong images of extremely thin bodies.
