Let Me In

Release Date: October 1, 2010
Genre: Drama, Horror, Mystery
Rating: R
Running Time: 1hr 56mins

We had our weekly movie night early this week - on Tuesday.  Let Me In was the chosen flick.  I had wanted to see this movie for quite some time, but was lead to believe it was on the scary side so I did not want to view it alone.  It was a good movie - albeit gorey in spots (no worse than True Blood, however) but it was not at all on the scary side.  It was a good movie - almost a tragedy when you realize the dilemma of the poor girl.

Season of the Witch

Release Date: January 17, 2011
Genre: Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Rating: PG-13
Running Time: 1hr 35mins

Season of the Witch starring Nicholas Cage was a very enjoyable movie.  I loved it!  It was not quite what I had expected -- I thought it would deal more with witch hunts - but I enjoyed it all the same.  I don't want to say too much about this one, as there is a twist at the end...

127 Hours

Release Date: January 28, 2011
Genre: Adventure, Biography, Drama
Rating: R
Running Time: 1hr 34mins

127 Hours is a remarkable (true) story about a man (portrayed by James Franco) who is trapped alone in a cavern for 127 hours.  The movie chronicles his escape.  It was an amazing movie and Franco did an outstanding job.  I would definately recommend this movie to everyone!

Elsewhere

Release Date: January 15, 2009
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller
Rating: R
Running Time: 1hr 46mins

Not a bad movie... But Elsewhere was a bit predictable.  I spent most of the movie trying to figure out where I had seen the main female character (Sarah played by Anna Kendrick) though... it finally occured to me that she also played  Jessica in Twilight.  The movie also contains other "known" young talents such as Paul Wesley (who can currently be seen as Stefan in the Vampire Diaries) and Tania Raymonde (who was Alex on Lost). The movie centers around Sarah's quest for her best friend Jillian, who is missing - although many presume she has run away.  Using Jillian's website - which resembles a MySpace page, Sarah and her friend are able to track down her abductor and learn the truth.  Not a movie I would likely watch again, but not bad if there is nothing else on.

Yogi Bear

Release Date: December 17, 2010
Genre: Animation, Adventure, Comedy, Family
Rating: PG
Running Time: 1hr 20mins

I think I set my hopes a little too high for this film.
Overall, I was pretty disappointed and didn't even finish watching the movie.  It did not keep the attention of my two youngest children either.  When I asked my eldest if she liked it, she quickly shook her head no.  It's sad really, since we all love the cartoon.
