Big Hero 6

Big Hero 6.  Why did we wait so long to see this one?! The kids and I just can't say enough good things about this movie!  It was funny... it was sad.. it was everything a good family movie should be all rolled into one big marshmallowy inflatable robot!  I am pretty sure this will be a family favourite for quite some time and will rank upon Disney top sellers.

If your family has been debating on watching it, RUN - dont walk - to get your copy today!

Unbroken

Released: 2014
Genre: Ture Story,  Biography, Drama, War

Unbroken...I wasn't in a movie watching mood when I watched this.  And to be honest, when I saw the previews, this movie was NOT on my list of must-see movies.  That being said, I was pleasantly surprized and really enjoyed this movie!!

Directed by Angelina Jolie, this movie is based on a true story of the life of WWII veteran and Olympian Louis Zamperini.  It is a lengthy movie - totalling 137 minutes, but well worth the watch.  The action and survival story really draws you into it.

One of my new favourite actors was in this movie as well: Finn Wittrock (from AHS fame, with his portrayal of Dandy Mott.)

Gone Girl

Released: 2014
Genre:  Drama, Mystery, Thriller

I have been wanting to see Gone Girl since the very first preview I saw.  This movie certainly did NOT disappoint.  Twists and turns throughout the movie. However, the ending was a little weird, and mildly unsatisfying.  Ben Affleck was perfect in his role... the man you loved to hate, but then felt sorry for...  I do plan on grabbing the book and checking it out now.  Let me know your thoughts!

Also... check out this HONEST TRAILER if you have already seen the movie (because there are spoilers).

Dragonheart 3: Srocerer's Curse

Released: 2015
Genre: Family, Adventure, Fantasy
Rating: PG13

For family movie night, we decided on Dragonheart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse.  The plot was similar to that of the first movie, becoming a knight, standing up for what is right... I was pleasantly surprized with this enstallment of the series; it seemed to capture the fantasy of the first movie (I was rather disappointed with the second movie). Sir Ben Kingsley did an amazing job as the voice actor for the Drago.

This movie captured my children's attention and kept them glued to the screen.  There is mild violence, but little blood and gore.  From what I recall, there are no scenes of sex, nudity or swearing.
